Poppies!!

On Saturday I went to see the poppies in Lancaster.  Of course I took many, many pictures of the dogs.

While I was unloading the dogs, I noticed a lady who had managed to get her sportscar stuck on the dirt access road.  I drove my minivan up no problem, and her BMW would have been fine had she not lost her nerve and tried to turn around.  By attempting to turn around she got her rear tire in softer sand and ran over some very waxy, wet plants.  The tire dug up the loose soil and the plants coated her tire in wetness.  I discovered this all when I went to see if I could help.  Her troubles were further complicated by her summer tires that needed to be replaced.  They had very little tread.  I found a piece of a cinder block and put in in front of the tire.  I have learned a thing or two off-roading with Dad.  The tire grabbed the block and pulled it under, but it ended up being too slick as well.  It might have worked if not for the slick plant material all over her tire.  I looked around hoping to see a likely looking Jeep- because who else is going to help you when you are stuck off road?  Luckily for the lady (I'm sorry to say she was blond) just then a Jeep with a winch came along.  I roped him into helping her and left them to it.  I kept an eye on them as I was taking pictures and I saw him pull her out.  I believe there might have been some damage to her front bumper caused by the winch cable, since he had to attach the cable under the car.

Muffin doesn't really get into picture taking.

I think this is my favorite shot.

The poppies made Pie a little "derpy."  New word for "dorky."  But not exactly the same.   More like silly and dorky combined.

Pie, Poppies, Mountains and snow!

Dottie was hot.
Pie was pretty.

New Purchases

Got a little crazy and spent some money.

On a sapphire ring:

And a fish:

He wasn't a happy fish until I unplugged his filter.  Bettas live in the rice patty fields and there is no current.  His filter, even though it is made for a Betta tank, made too strong of a current.  Now he comes out of the plants and swims around and puffs his fins out.  Oh- his name is Fish.

Agility Pictures

These are from a trial back in November I think.   I don't have ANY good pictures of Dottie jumping (she tends to look silly) so I love these!

And these were from the demo we did for the base Family Day in Dec.

Having soooo much fun!

Southern CA Terv Trial Agility Videos

I always enjoy showing at the LA Fairgrounds in Pomona.  Kind of a drive, and you have to pay to park, but it is under cover and on dirt.  Dottie got a double Q and an extra Q in two days of showing, and all first places in a large and competitive class.

First, first and....first!

Here are our videos.  Professionally done which is great.

Merry Christmas!

Still playing catch up on the blog, obviously.  Only 3 Christmas pictures that I'm sharing.

When I was decorating the house I turned around and saw this.

The fully decorated house.  And a stud Muffin on a Harley.

The pic I used for my card this year.

Pie - or Is It?

Pie takes a nap.   Zzzzz.  Wait, that isn't Pie's collar.  And I don't recognize that toy.  THAT'S NOT PIE!  Sure looks like her though.  This is Laci, a Malinois rescued through the Mal Rescue. She is not located in CA, but they look similar enough that they could still be related!

My Dogs on TV

My dogs and I volunteered to be on Fox's Paws for a Cause TV special.  I didn't know what was involved but being on TV is always fun so off we went.  Tuns out they needed the dogs to sit on an airplane without the owners while they filmed.  Everyone ended up tying their dogs to the seats, because there was way too much craziness for even the most well trained dog to hold a sit in an airplane seat for 15 minutes.  Of course it was a full day of filming then 30 seconds of dogs in the clip.  My dogs made the cut for the intro.  Here is the video:

And still pictures grabbed from the video.

MASTER AGILITY CHAMPION (MACH) DOTTIE!

Dottie earned her Mach back in Dec!!! I knew she'd get it eventually but we had a dry spell of no Qs for a while and we haven't been trialing much.  I don't really have to much to say about it other than "Good Girl- you are the best little Malinois!"  Wait, one more thing I will say- Dottie is probably one of the few Malinois in America with the AKC Mach AND an IPO3 title, FH and TDX.  Special girl.

Not the best video, if you want to see the action you should click the video so it opens bigger in Youtube.

C-130s

And here is my bike with a C-130 on my base.

My bike is on the right. They didn't do individual pics but I parked on the end and cropped out everyone else.  The one on the right is also a HD so it is allowed to be in my picture.

A couple of the bikes on base.  Mine is far left.

Hawker Hunters

It has been a loooong time since I blogged.  I'll try to play a little catch up, but not much has been happening.  In the meantime, here is a picture of my motorcycle with 2 Hawker Hunters on Naval Base Ventura County.
